The truth, apparently, is in there. Here's what Julian Assange had to say in a web chat with Guardian readers today

have there ever been documents forwarded to you which deal with the topic of UFOs or extraterrestrials?

Julian Assange:
Many weirdos email us about UFOs or how they discovered that they were the anti-christ whilst talking with their ex-wife at a garden party over a pot-plant. However, as yet they have not satisfied two of our publishing rules.
1) that the documents not be self-authored;
2) that they be original.
However, it is worth noting that in yet-to-be-published parts of the cablegate archive there are indeed references to UFOs.

Can't wait to see the scene-setter on our arsenic-eating Saturnian friends. I'm guessing by now they've inked a lucrative oil contract with Gazprom and don't trust Hamid Karzai either.

Where's the evidence?

Nowadays, literally almost everyone carries a camera on their person. And yet not a single clear image of a UFO has ever been produced, must less a photo of an extraterrestrial.

If UFOs have been visiting this planet, surely one would have crashed, or dropped a piece of litter at some point. And yet we find no physical evidence of any kind. (The Roswell Incident has been explained completely to my satisfaction as a weather experiment. And if you subscribe to Occam's Razor, then you must believe this too.)

Finally, the most compelling argument of all:

If Bill Clinton could engage in adulterous activities and not keep it secret, how can you possibly believe that aliens could be kept secret? Government officials leak information to news sources all the time. There is no possible way that a lid could be kept on the biggest news story in the history of the world.

UFOlogy has become a religion. and as such, its adherents cling to the hope that their life's work was not in vain, and actually become quite emotional when you suggest it was.

It is about time we found out the truth about UFOs

It is high time someone exposed the government secrets about UFOs and aliens. It is the US military/intelligence community that does not want the truth about advanced aliens visiting from outer space to be revealed, since that would undermine US military and economic dominance of the world.
